Career Snapshot
I began my teaching career in a public elementary school in Kent, WA. Our school served several housing projects and was around 80% poverty at the time, and I learned very quickly I had to do something different to engage kids, because rote learning was not going to engage them. They had other issues in their lives.
I moved from the classroom to working as an instructional designer and developer, focused primarily on integrated technology and online learning at a regional educational service district. From there, I moved to a large school district, first as the instructional technology administrator for the district and then 9 years in the same district as an elementary principal.
Most recently, I’ve worked in a medium size school district north of Seattle, WA as Chief Technology Officer.
