How does the free private mentoring session application process work?

Step 1:
Create a short video (no more than 2 minutes) explaining what you would like to have a coaching call with one of us about (it could be a particular issue or challenge that you’re experiencing or an idea that you want help with). Upload that video somewhere (YouTube/Google Drive/Vimeo) so that you have a URL – you’ll need it to apply.

Step 2:
Fill out the free mentoring session application form below.

Step 3:
We will email you to set up a virtual call. We will have a few questions so that we can begin to learn about your position and needs.

Step 4:
Respond to email and provide dates/times that work for you. Please provide your time zone again so that we can coordinate correctly.

Step 5:
We will decide on a virtual platform. (Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, Google+ Hangout) At our scheduled time we will spend the time addressing the particular problem/challenge you have indicated in your application for a free mentoring session. This conversation will be recorded and used for coach training purposes.

Step 6:
There is no obligation to continue with private mentoring sessions. If you do feel our private coaching fits your needs and would like more, we have a variety of mentoring packages (from short-term to long-term) available. It is totally up to you!

What's in it for you?

You can get a free 45 minute mentoring session with Kim Cofino (Premium Mentor for The Coach Microcredential) or Chrissy Hellyer (Premium Mentor for The Connected Teacher Microcredential)

In that mentoring session, we can be a sounding board to bounce some ideas off. We can work through a particular challenge you might be having, answer any questions you have about being a learning coach or help you explore authentic and meaningful ways of bringing technology into the classroom for your students.

What's in it for us?

Behind the scenes our video conversation is being recorded because we’ll be using Google Hangouts (or Zoom) and in return for the free mentoring session, we get to post the video recording on our website and share it with a wider audience because we believe that the challenges teachers and coaches have in their individual environments can become really great shared learning opportunities for other educators around the world!

Of course, we will share that recording with you but we will also share that recording in our online space like our social media channels, in our various courses, and on our website.
