About The Future is Now

The Future is Now is a one-day event designed to inspire and educate teachers about the critical skills needed in today’s workforce, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM). The conference highlight is an expert panel of guests from technology-rich fields of work who will provide real-world, practical insight into the skills and knowledge needed to be successful today and in the future.

Focus Action Groups

With the inspiration of our expert panel of guests, teachers will spend the day in focused action groups, working to develop curriculum (a unit of study) that creates opportunities for their students to learn the critical skills needed to be successful in Medicine, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, The Creative Arts and Consumer Production.

Innovative and Practical

Combining the hands-on practical experience of experts in the field, with Eduro Learning’s team of professional development experts, The Future is Now is exactly what today’s teachers need to create innovative and practical, technology-rich, authentic, real-world learning experiences for their students – in order to prepare them for employment expectations today – and for the future.

Bell Harbor International Conference Center is located just blocks from downtown Seattle, and sits on Pier 66 along Seattle’s beautiful waterfront. Sea-Tac International Airport is approximately 15 miles from Bell Harbor, with travel time between 30-60 minutes based on traffic.

PARKING

We recommend parking in the Bell Street Pier Garage, which connects directly to Bell Harbor and World Trade Center Seattle via the skybridge and can be accessed on both Elliott Avenue and Wall Street.

Breakout Team Challenge

Design a unit using the insights from the panel of experts to create an authentic, purposeful learning experience for your students!

More details ...
Following the design cycle process, you will work in teams of 3-4 teachers on a unit plan that you can implement in your classroom. At the end of the day, you will share the results of your work with teachers from the other focus groups. As part of this process, you will learn how to create a simple but effective visual (using tools like Canva or Adobe Spark) to share key goals for your unit.
