Ron Hause

Genetics and Statistics, Juno Therapeutics

Dr. Ron Hause is the Associate Director of Computational Genomics and Data Science at Juno Therapeutics in Seattle, WA. Ron’s team develops statistical and computational methods to better understand, interpret and predict how patients’ biomarkers affect their responses to cellular immunotherapies. Ron received his Bachelor’s in Biology at Carleton College in Northfield, MN
followed by his doctorate in Genetics, Genomics and Systems Biology at University of Chicago.

In 2014 he moved to Seattle to pursue a Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Washington where he worked on analytical methods for predicting the effects of mutations of uncertain significance. Ron has devoted significant efforts to STEM outreach and education, including acting as a Pacific Science Center Science Communication Fellow and lecturing at various liberal arts colleges and high schools on topics related to machine learning and statistics in medicine and biology. He’s passionate about opportunities to bring seemingly different fields together to solve interesting problems—a key part of getting students excited about particular fields of science is connecting those fields with other areas of interest or experience for the student.

Outside of science, Ron also speaks Japanese and is an active CrossFit athlete and Ultimate Frisbee player.
