Career Snapshot

I have been a classroom teacher since 1996, living and working internationally since 2000.  Before moving to my current position as PK-12 Education Technology Coordinator at the International School of Beijing, China, I was heavily involved in the implementation of a 2:1 environment for students in the middle school at Yokohama International School in Yokohama, Japan. Along with Kim Cofino, we worked on documenting the effect that iPads are having in the learning environment when combined with laptops.

At the moment I’m passionate about 3D printing and rapid prototyping and I’m also exploring how to make coding and robotics more accessible learners of all ages.

In addition to working with students, I am  interested in providing and creating meaningful learning experiences and professional development for teachers. I love the opportunity to present and facilitate at technology conferences, workshops and regional conferences. Since 2012  I have served on various organizing committees for the Learning2 Conference – an amazing conference that focuses on the needs of the conference attendee. I hope everyone has the opportunity to attend this kind of conference!
